And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.
We must be careful who in the church we promote to the office of a deacon. The Bible teaches us that a man who is a deacon must be proven or tested first before holding such an office. Yet, this can apply to many offices in the church.
The idea here is that this person has a servant’s heart. They are first a servant, then a leader. Many great men in the Bible were first servants before they were leaders. You can look at Joseph, Moses, Joshua, David, Paul, and others.
Even still, this goes deeper into our personal lives as Christians living in this world. You will be tested and proven for your faith. God wants to see if you are the “real deal.”
And others also want to see this. Do you mean what you say? Do you act what you’re taught? We must be tested and proven Christians to be prepared Christians!
An untested Christian is an unprepared Christian.
