The Spirit of a Pilgrim

The assurance that the Lord will come again to receive His saints strengthens and sweetens our difficult work on earth! To know that God is preparing a place for us in heaven is the star of hope to prayer. It is the wiping away of tears and putting the sweet odor of heaven into the bitterness of life.
The spirit of a pilgrim makes praying easier. An earthbound, earth-satisfied spirit cannot pray. The flame of spiritual desire in such a heart has gone out.
The wings of its faith are clipped, its eyes are glazed over and its tongue is silenced. But they who wait continually upon the Lord do renew their strength!
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings as eagles; They shall run, and not be weary; And they shall walk, and not faint.
