Humility Loves Obscurity
By T. S. Candee on January 27, 2025 in The Power of Prayer
Humility is an indispensable requisite of true prayer. Humility must be in the praying character as light is in the sun.
Humility is born by looking at God and His holiness, and then looking at self and man’s unholiness. Humility loves obscurity and silence, esteems the virtues of others, excuses their faults with mildness and easily pardons injuries. It knows the riches of the cross and the humiliations of Jesus Christ.
By approaching God’s throne in humility, a person will find comfort in knowing that God is all-powerful. Humility strives to be holy, like God is holy
That we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us.
