God challenges a father to be wise with his finances

As a father, you have been given the enormous responsibility of providing for your family, and how you handle your financial blessings is a direct reflection of your walk with the Lord. Along with providing for your family, God wants you to be a faithful and cheerful giver to the church. In 1 Timothy 6:10, God also challenges you to examine your heart and its motivations concerning money:

For the love of money is the root of all evil …

Simply put, when people are consumed by wealth and the personal power that money provides, they become selfish. So today, commit to being generous with the money the Lord has given you; after all:

… It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Acts 20:35

But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

2 Corinthians 9:6-7

Trust in the Lord, and do good; So shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord; And he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Psalm 37:3-4

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be meat in mine house, And prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, If I will not open you the windows of heaven, And pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
